Practices

Practices will be held in the Dillon Multipurpose Room. The current times (Fall 2017) are:

Tuesday 6:30–8pm

During practices we focus on building strength, flexibility, and balance through stretching, conditioning, and basic gymnastics skills. Off-campus practice time on real gymnastics equipment is currently severely limited, so on-campus practice will be essential for getting strength and flexibility training done so we can optimize our time at actual gyms. We will also have time during on-campus practices to teach beginners basic floor skills like handstands, handsprings, presses, walkovers, etc..

The structure of practices will be:

  • Warm up and stretching
  • Basic floor exercises
  • Strength conditioning

Practices are open to anyone who would like to come, no prior experience with gymnastics needed.

Attire:

If you are attending practice we ask that you wear clothes that you will be able to move around in (sweatpants, basketball shorts, yoga pants, etc.), no jeans (unless you want to rip your pants). If you have long hair that will fall into your face please wear it up. And finally, no jewelry (necklaces, watches, hoop earrings, etc.)

If you have any questions or concerns please contact one of the officers or see our Contact Page.
